Home Pricing FAQ's Helpful Hints The Process
Today's Wedding Photography is based on a photojournalism approach. That is
capturing the story of the wedding through photographs.
My approach is a combination of photojournalism; capturing the flow of events;
and a creative view of traditional wedding photography. Taking the "list" of photos that
every Bride wants included, but shooting them in a more relaxed artistic style that avoids
the poised formal look. A true photojournalist blends with the crowd and documents
events as they unfold. His pictures document emotions, the real expressions,
the happiness and joy. Overall, photojournalism produces an intimate and artistic take on the wedding.
My process begins at the rehearsal where I and my assistant will make a shooting plan
based on your ceremony, scout for interesting locations, and take a few test shots
to get a feel for the location. We will arrive early on the day of the wedding
to capture the set up and make any necessary preparations. I will document the Bride
and Groom getting ready if possible, the families preparations, and the crowds arrival. We will
take as many pre-ceremony shots of the Bride and Groom (separately) with family and the wedding party as
possible. The entry and ceremony will be covered from various angles and locations
depending on the venue. After the ceremony we will finish the Bride, Groom
and Family and Wedding Party Pictures. Next we will record the entry to the reception and continue
with the after party and events. Some time during the reception the Bride,
Groom and I will try to slip away for a few minutes to take some intimate creative images.
At the studio I will select the strongest images looking for the perfect
light and expressions. Next I use Photoshop to fine tune the exposure of the image,
clean up noise and produce a more expressive print.
